I just found this, and thought it was very interesting. What do you think about it? Does it change the way you think about this?

"Is There Creation? Or Evolution? Or Both?

Quran Teaches - BOTH!

It says, "Allah is - Al Khaliq" (The Creator)
It also says, "Allah is - Al Bari" (The Evolver)"

I already knew that. That's why I see that Islam makes more sense than Christianity.

Why prove whether it is wrong or right? Why not just keep learning instead? Hmmm. We both believe in god, so, let's first agree that whatever or however we came to be in this world, god is the one who created us. Right? How then, knowing that god has this incredible ability to do whatever it is he wills, can you really expect man will ever truly figure all of this out? Evolution in some form may very well be truth. The way I see science though is this. Science is, in a certain sense, the code of how God created us. However hard we try, we will never break that code. How could we? We're not god, we don't have that power. I don't think anyone needs to prove that evolution is wrong. There are far more things that go into what God created that we can't see vs. the few things our minds can actually get a grasp on. There's nothing wrong with science, or trying to understand how everything works. But at some point, don't we need to also realize that all of it is on such a grand scale, that to entertain the idea of actually reaching God's level of intelligence is laughable? I mean, I'm sorry, but no scientist is ever going to reach that level. Like I said, there may very well be evolution, and there certainly there are things in the Quran that suggest as much (I've read a few, but I don't have the verses right now, and regardless you probably know more of them than I do). But unless God imparts every detail of how things work on us, I think it's probably close to impossible to give actual proof either way. We can only theorize. And in the end, isn't the most important thing just understanding that whatever it is we guess at, we know God is the one who is behind it all? At least, that is what is more important to me, when it comes to evolution. Whether our current theories are correct or not, I don't fail to see the amazing in all of it.

I think it's all a question of interpretation. I've read Muslim writers who make the same claim that the Christian flat-earth crowd makes--that evolution is a perversion of the scientific method. And there are Christians (like the pope) who accept scientific explanations of cosmogeny (a catholic priest made the first decent cut at the big bang theory) and the origin of species (by natural selection). They believe in creation--just that it didn't happen literally the way spelled out in Genesis. So you can be either religion and justify either viewpoint (if you are willing to ignore empirical fact at least).

Referring to the main idea of the question "evolution". Did you know that Muslims do not believe in Darwin's Theory at all. Actually believing in it is considered KOFR. Allah said in soorat Al teen (soorah 95):

95:4] We created man in the best design.

Islamic scholars said that this means that when Allah first created man, he created them in human form, as we are today. Okay, maybe they were taller and lived longer and stuff like that, but they never looked like monkeys. So Darwin was wrong.

There is a mention of monkeys in Quraan, and this is when Allah turned the Jews who greatly did not belive in Moses and Allah into Monkeys & Pigs. So we still believe that they are the descendents of these two animals, in Soorat Al- Maidah:

[5:60] Say, "Let me tell you who are worse in the sight of GOD: those who are condemned by GOD after incurring His wrath until He made them (as despicable as) monkeys and pigs, and the idol worshipers. These are far worse, and farther from the right path."

It is interesting but I don't think it is true. The explanation is flawed. I would say Humans (Adam and Eve) were created directly and physically by God. As for everything else (animals etc.), the Quran doesn't say they did not evolve nor how they were created so evolution possibility exists. It should be remembered that God doesn't need to follow the laws of nature he created and can make exceptions and diversions as he wills.

Maybe.

When one looks at the ahadith books, they tell us that Hazrat Adam and his first kids were GIANTS. So were the people of Nuh, Lut, Salih and so on. N then slowly slowly, they grew smaller and smaller until now when we are not giants.

That is in a sense of evolution.

But one must remember. All creatures were CREATED in the first place. That;s what the Quran says.

ps. It is said that (I M not sure about the authaunticity of it) that one of the signs of the Hereafter is that people will start growing taller n taller n taller. (evolution. )

I didn't know that, that was interesting.. So does the logic that is applied in this article corespond with what scientists would call evolution.. an evolve from the DNA of other species to humans?

I wonder at the arrogance of a haughty and vain person. Yesterday he was only a drop of semen and tomorrow he will turn into a corpse. I wonder at the man who observes the Universe created by God and doubts His Being and Existence. I wonder at the man who sees people dying around him and yet he has forgotten his end. I wonder at the man who understands the marvel of genesis of creation and refuses to accept that he will be brought back to life again. I wonder at the man who takes great pains to decorate and to make comfortable this mortal habitat and totally forgets his permanent abode.

Why does Evolution need an answer? It's not a problem, it's a fact of nature. Does the Germ theory of disease need an answer? No, it just leads to conclusions.
