I have downloaded some music files from " http://www.muchmusic.net/top_1000_songs_of_last_30_years_mp3_download?from=100&comments_per_page=50" and the guy who put them there said " After downloading, rename the files' extension "jpg" to "mp3".

The problem is how can i do this? As i tried everything i could think of. or maybe there is no way to do this? Thx

1. Go to My Computer
2. Click on Tools then Folder Options
3. Click on View tab
4. Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"
5. Click on "Apply to All Folders"

Then go to where your files are stored and you will see the filename and .jpeg. You can then right click on the file and rename. Delete the .jpeg and type in .mp3

In order to change the extension on a file, you have to have the "Hide Extensions" turned off.

Go into Windows Explorer (My Computer icon)
Go to Tools
Click on View tab
Look down the listing and find the "Hide Extensions on Know Files" and unchecked it

Then when you look at a file, it will display the file extension so that you can rename the extension when renaming the file.

Have you tried right clicking and renaming, adding the mp3 extention to the end of the name?

for example

right click on song.jpg select rename type song.mp3
