the organised religions of the world at present would not exist as they are if it were not for it being taught.
though if these did not exist,
humans would be bound to think up some other story, its part of the patronistic & creative human condition.

the problem is that people who would persue supernatural beliefs, start to meld with each other for benefit in numbers, thus forming mishmash doctorines.then hey presto, an organised religion.

Stacy R - That's the dumbest response I've ever heard!

Congratulations.

As for the question, of course they rely on social conditioning and peer pressure. When I was growing up, going to church was THE social event. Everyone dressed up in their finest and paraded themselves for everyone else to see. "Look at the fine christian that I am. Look at the fine christians my children are." It was all a sham! Most of those christians went home to alcohol and violence and abuse, but that's alright as long as you put up a good show every sunday.

Regardless of what is taught, if there were no formal religion, mankind would still ask questions about his origins, and seek answers about it. Someone would ask a question, and someone else might provide an answer. I think that organized religion is more than just a quest of spiritual meaning, and the organized religion was the first form of legal system, and Moses the first documented lawyer in history, before we took the religious beliefs out of it, in search of an homogeneous legal system that can apply to all. Back in those days, to say that these rules were handed down by God, or the Gods, might have lent them more weight in keeping a group in order, as they would have to face a cosmic punishment, in addition to a physical one, for misbehavior. In the beginning, it was set up that way not only to provide spiritual answers, but to keep an entire culture organized and provide rules for living. If "God" hadn't been part of the development of a legal system, and we maintained a separation between what is "moral" or "legal" from the questions of who am I, who started all this, we would still have religion, but it might perhaps have a different form than what we are familiar with today. Try to put yourself in Moses' shoes a moment, you have a huge group of people, who you are trying to lead out of captivity and slavery, they worship the Gods of their captors, and not only do you have to motivate them to treat each other fairly, but you also have the task of organizing them in to a culture of thier own, and part of that is to get rid of the religion of your captors, because if one people wants to take over another group of people, the first thing they do is get rid of thier Gods. So you not only have to keep thousands of people in line while looking for a place to settle down, your people still have shackles on them, in the form of the religion that was imposed by thier captors as well, so as part of freeing them from thier captors, he also had to help them find a culture and identity that belonged to them, and not the Egyptians. Really big job, that. Unfortunately, the "legal" aspects of that job got so ingrained, that the formal seeking of our origins has become somewhat "hidebound", as Anne McCaffrey would put it, to an extent that in some groups the "law" is more important than the spiritual aspects...

No, opposition to organized religious beliefs exists out of social conditioning and peer pressure!

dear friend
india gave zero or a circle like so once again we have to reach to square one or a null vector so nothing is supermatural beliefs but it is a natural process to have a disciplined life style.
