I'm pretty thick skinned. In fact, I'm pretty thick everything! What made me this way (the thick skin, metaphorically) is that I have always been heavy, not to mention downright fat. Kids are especially cruel to fat children, and I had to learn not to cry when people said rude things to me, because that only made them laugh all the harder. Of course, they would not believe that I did not eat more than they did, I just had a different body type.

I got bullied at school and since then I've had to deal with many traumas and heartaches in my life. You either become thick-skinned or fade away. And I dont give up that easy!

Very. I spent most of my school years being bullied, and the last four years of my marriage being made to feel like I was nothing, so I've developed a skin of pachyderm proportions. I'm exceedeingly hard to upset these days.

good question.
I think it depends on what the subject matter is.
I can take alot - and deal with alot, and very well, so I would say I am thick skinned, however there is one subject that I am very sensitive about (although I have mellowed over the last couple years), and my feelings can get hurt over it when it is mentioned.

I work in a prison; I have to be thick-skinned. You have no idea of all he names I've been called.

i am quite thick skinned due to bullying, although some say i am more thick headed than thick skinned

Sort of... I can take a lot and am very very patient. I guess I came to be this way by all the negative things that have happened to me. But I put God at the first of it all, cuz I believe He's the one that wanted me that way.

I'm made of leather, always have been. A lot of time spent fending for myself in many ways, over time, keeps me thick I suppose.
