I rarely fight because I just want peace, having lived with family who fought frequently. I believe in compromise and no longer wish to live with someone who won't, or with someone I am not compatible with.
Anger poisons the heart and soul. I know. I lived with it much longer than I should have. When there is constant anger, you live in fear; fear of their moods, fear of speaking or doing the wrong things, fear of seeing others humiliated or hurt. And all that's beautiful within you begins to whither... and shrivel... and die.
When we fought, I would become confused because our fights were not about resolution or compromises. I thought we were working for the same goals, that we were using the same set of rules (honesty, trust, loyalty, love...). That's why I became confused. I did not believe she would lie.
When a person will do anything to be right, even lie, there is no winner. I agree with the saying, "Sometimes when you win, you lose!"
By the time I left, I had changed into someone I did not like. It has taken quite awhile to regain my spirit and learn to love myself. It has taken even longer to feel life in me again. For so long, all I felt was angry or numb.
This may be more serious than you want, but the subject is very near to my heart. The pain caused by the constant anger and fighting is still present in myself and my children, though we are healing. I also see the suffering in her children.

Well ,in 36 years of marriage Iwould be a liar if I said we have never argued ....it's part & parcel of two people living under the same roof !
The trick is to pick the battles that are worth fighting for & fighting fair !
Wouldn't want to live with anyone else ...take too long to train another one !

Yes, I fight with my boyfriend over money all the time because he lives with me but gives me very little money. He contributes towards making my bills higher but doesn't give me even half of the bills.

depends on WHO you live with- I lived with friends and it usually was about who was bringing who home at what hour and rent money- that was 10 years ago..now I live with my bf and we have 2x a month arguements about his job. Money isnt much of a issue but it is always nice to have stablity.

My daughter. She's 20 and a nursing student doing her exams. I know she's stressed but there's no need to pick on everyone.
