Wednesday: at baseball....I couldn't have cared less what they said. I drove in several runs and we won the game. Did I forgive them? Like I said, I couldn't have cared less so there was nothing to forgive.

About 6 months ago by a long time friend, I was in such shock.
She did come over to say sorry, I forgave but didn't forget. Things have not been the same since and to tell the truth I don't ever care to see that person again. (Some people just can't see the forest through the trees! And she was one of them)

Erm, it happens to me all the time as I'm a financial investigator...so I'm pretty thick-skinned.

If it was a stranger abusing me for no reason, I'd usually stand up to them unless I perceived myself to be in danger, when the best thing to do is simply ignore the abuse. There's nothing to forgive in such situations as the people don't know me and so anything they say isn't based on fact.

If it was a friend, I'd try to resolve our argument. If any of my friends abused me, it would be because I'd been unreasonable or stepped out of line.

I'm a building contracts manager and was verbally abused two weeks ago by an irate client, who had not been passed on the correct information by her partner, but still thought it was her right to swear and scream at myself and the project's architect.
I took it all in my stride. I think I've developed particularly thick skin dealing with unreasonable people, most of whom don't want to pay money for something they have asked for, strange world we live in.
Forgave and have moved on.

It's been a long time. I'm not exactly the personality type who sits back and takes it quietly...or I do take it quietly which is even more scary.

No, I don't forgive the person afterwards. You can't "unrung that bell" with me.

A couple of days ago, an alcoholic tramp threatened to break my nose and called me an ar$ehole because I wouldn't let him into the building I work in. I laughed it off, no point getting het up over it.
