I work at a convenience store and my coworker sells beer to her friends that are under age. I don't want to look like a trouble maker but I feel this is wrong. What would be the best thing to do?

If he/she ever gets caught and you are working with her, you could also be questioned and if they find out that you knew this, you could also be held accountable. Tell your boss and let him know that you want it to be confidential. Let them catch him/her in the act doing it. This way they will catch him/her and you won't be in the middle of it. Yes, this is very wrong, especially if these minors are out driving around and end up killing a family or themselves due to a car accident while drinking. Ask yourself this, would you want him/her selling alcohol to your under age children?

It really depends on the state laws. Many states do allow minors 18 and over to serve beer in a restaurant. I would check the laws before putting anyone in that position.

You have to report it.

She is not only jeopardizing her job but your job, you manager's job and the owner's business.

She may think there is nothing wrong wit it but the government does not look kindly on people who are "Friendly" like that.

The business could be severely fined or shut down.

Do you want to lose pay because she wanted her friends to break the law?

by ignoring the situation your not changing the fact you know it is happening.

do your self a favor either turn her in or change jobs because if you don't stop her you will end up paying for her friends fun.

Of course you should.....
The place where you work could lose there license, which could force the shop to close and everyone could be out of a job!
I also work in off license trade and we are told if we think they are under 21 then they need id. The law is there for a reason!!!

Depending on the laws of your state, your co-worker is putting your employer at risk of legal problems. For that reason only I'd recommend first warning the co-worker and then reporting her to your boss.

Which I would hate to do since I agree that the "crime" is pretty minimal. But it's also not right to force someone else to take a risk on your behalf, and that's what the co-worker is doing to your employer.

Turn her in....It just might save those kids lifes....Just because most of us drank while we were underage doesn't mean it was right...Chances are nothing will happen to them and they'll get drunk and puke all over each other but you never know....Do the right thing....You could loose your job over it as well if the place gets shut down for selling to minors....
