I hope there is enought of you guys left. Anyways, will it actually mean something if we win the Silver Boot this weekend? I love the Rangers, but I really dont see the point of only 2 teams competing for that.

First let me start off by saying this... GO ASTROS!!! Not that that's out of the way. The Silver Boot should mean something to you as a Ranger fan. Both of our teams are struggling right now and a series against an in state rival might just help one of us to get out of the rut we are in. Hell if the season goes bad all year long at least the team that wins will have atleast one bright spot to reflect on. Even if it is the SILVER BOOT. Winning that means that for that season you were the best in TEXAS atleast. Might not be the championship trophy but I look forward to the Astros storing the boot in the lobby of Minute Maid Park

I guess that will give something to distract the Rangers fans from the terrible team in Arlington posing as an MLB ball club. Tom Hicks should just bring up the entire Tulsa Drillers roster, at least then Hicks could justify the losing. The Rangers haven't made the playoffs since 1999 and they aren't anytime soon.

Has anyone ever cared about the Silver Boot?

This is a manufactured "rivalry" and, as with most such things promulgated in an artificial environment and against historical trends and cultural preferences, has negligible hold on the imaginations of fandom. Keep telling us it's important, Bud. Maybe someday, someone will believe you.

Good luck. I'm sure its tough times seeing your team play the way they are, trust me, I'm a Mets fan, I've seen them suck a whole lot of a long time. I've always disliked the Astros, so go Rangers!! Get that Silver Boot!!!

Of course, it is always good when your team provides something positive for their fans. You always want bragging rights when you beat your rival and that gives the fans something to cheer about in up years or down years for the team.
