It was a 1968 Ford Torino I was 17 also. It had a 429 and would pass everything but a gas station...lol

My first car was a 1970 Ford Maverick. 4 door. Manual Transmission. It was blue. I think I got it over the summer and I'd have been 17.

My first car was a 1950 Chevy. The 3rd gear would continually pop out into 2nd gear as I was drivng along. It was a stick shift. All my original cars were stick shifts. :o) My dad paid for it by trading a camera for it. Wow!!
I had just turned 16, so that would have been in 1963. Nothing like an old clunker to start with. :o)
