well, I am a Diamondback fan living here in AZ! so I am definitely showing love for them!
as to why nobody else is, here are a few reasons:
1) age and experience. you said it yourself we are a young team, and only a few years removed from going 51-111. We will not get much attention until we get a few more years under our belt.
2) location; playing out here in the west many people are asleep in the east when we play the majority of our games.
3) market size; it isn't like we are the Yankees or Red Sox, and a lot of that has to do with the location.
4) same division that had been known as the NL WORST as opposed to WEST for a couple seasons before this year. it will take a season or two to get any attention again as the NL west.
5) same division as the Dodgers and Padres. In all respect to the D-Backs, both of them should be better teams than AZ.
6) and the BIGGEST reason if you ask me. WE are the WORST fans in baseball. Yes, I say we! even though I am not a bad fan, I do know quite well that the Diamondbacks fans are BAD. part of that can be traced back to our team having such great early success as a franchise. We were spoiled early on with the World Series Title and all, and that has led to us being lame. With as great a stadium as we have, our attendance should be much better. and the few that do go to the games, most of them are old and stuck up! and HEAVEN FORBID people cheer on the team! seriously, you would not imagine the bad stares I get when I get up and cheer on my team, that is supposedly their's as well. Seriously, one of the games I went to earlier this year I was on my feet with two strikes two outs in the top of the ninth, cheering on my team for a victory up just one run, and some old man sitting a few seats away tapped me on the shoulder gave me a nasty look and said "you NEED to sit down!" I looked at him with an even nastier look, and said, "what I need is a win!" a few people around me stood up and cheered with me after that, but also, a few more older stuck up fans complained. When teams like the Dodgers and Mets come to town there is so much more "LET'S GO METS/DODGERS!" going on, then there is even CLAPPING from D-Back fans. now, when the stadium does clap, you have to look around to find the animation telling us to. It is PATHETIC! oh, and do not even get me started about the series where the Red Sox were in town! If the team's own fans cannot give them love, why would anybody, ESPECIALLY the media, give us any love. lol

The Diamondbacks are one of those teams that just goes about their business of winning without much fan fair. Not too many big name stars and they win a lot of low scoring games with their pitching. Not only do they not get a lot of love from around the country, they don't get it from their own fans as well. They have one of the most spectacular ballparks in baseball and their own fans don't give them support. Once again this year their attendance is one of the lowest in MLB. The NL West is very competitive again this year and that should be bringing the fans to the ballpark. I don't know what more you can say, but I hope the Diamondback fans come to realize what they have and maybe the rest of the country will follow.

Arizona is playing well, so does the Rockies, Dodgers and padres are up there in the tight race. NL West is starting to heat up which is exciting! to me, I am not much of a D-back fan, I do like the ball park but thats about it...I'm a life long Dodger fan so you understand where I'm coming from. GO DODGER BLUE!!!
