Dear KJ, I was not answering your question. I was replying the answerer above me in the other question. He suggested you to teach English, and that, of course is not possible.
I didn't want to correct anyone. I only think the other one's suggestion is not a good one.
Of course you can go to Japan and live with your gf. It doesn't matter if your English is good or not.
I hope you have a good time in Japan.
