Perhaps David Wells should throw a 21-inning game to get back to a respectable 300lbs.

Yes, on a hot day. A pitcher could lose a lot of water although the most of the weight would come back by the next day.
Babe Adams once pitched 21 innings in a major league game --- that would be a workout!
Athletes should not lose that much weight. It is more healthy to drink a little water before starting to become dehydrated.
C.C. Sabathia is "listed" at 290 lbs. I would guess he could sweat out 10 pounds on a hot day!

It depends on the pitcher, the weather, things like that. Yes it is possible to lose 10+ lbs. in a game. But if he doesn't drink something to keep his system hydrated, plus taking salt tablets, he is taking a big chance with his heatlh. This is not how to lose weight if this is what you have in mind. In high school, I used to lose 8-12 lbs a game when I was catching, but most of it was water weight, so by the time I drank some water later on, the weight just came back on.

Ye sin the old days the Mets announcers, Ralph Kinner, Bob Murphy and Lindsey Nelson used to talk about this espically during day games. It was easy to lose the weight. They also wore flannel uniforms then, not the polyester they wear today

Yes, especially if its a fat pitcher, and he pitches a long game.

Sure. However, the weight loss will be in water loss, and not actual body weight pounds.
