I seriously love this guy's game. He's a pass-first PG who knows how to run an offense and is really limited in his mistakes. He doesn't shoot the ball much, but when he does it's almost always a high percentage shot. He was freaking amazing when he stepped in for Ford last season; to the point where I thought that they might bench Ford when he got back from his injury...

I'd love to see Calderon in a Rockets jersey... but I doubt it'll happen

You can make a good arguement for Jose being one of the best backups. (in a rocket jersey! HELL NO!)

Who said Marcus Williams is good? He was garbage in the playoffs, Calderon tore him up. Anyways as for Barbosa, I do not see him being a true PG he is not a pass first kind of PG, he seems to create for himself more, for example: during games after a shot is taken he leaks out alot, true PGs don't leak out they come back for the outlet to start the fast break. And most of the time Barbosa is on teh floor with Nash except for maybe 10-12 minutes a game. Monta Ellis would be some good competition, but then anyone can be a good pg on the warriors because you just run and score layups, no real set up of plays, unlike Jose who sets up plays. As for the others I don't think they can compete. And no I don't think they will trade him unless a must take offer is given to them. Did you see him full court Kidd in the playoffs on a sprained ankle? That took some heart!

Calderon is awesome. I didn't really know about him until I watched Toronto in the playoffs.

I don't know if I would take him over the Suns' Barbosa. but he still has a damn fine game.

I would rate him as the second best back-up PG in the game today.

There are a lot of good backup point guards in the league.

Monta Ellis (Golden State)
Leandro Barbosa (Phoenix)
Marcus Williams (New Jersey)
Carlos Arroyo (Orlando)
Sergio Rodriguez (Portland)
Bobby Jackson(New Orleans)

So no, I don't think Jose is the best backup PG but he is a capable backup, one who is a good fit for Toronto.

Calderon is too valuable to the Raptors. His contract is cheap but his output is large. I think he's probably due a decent increase after the 07/08 season otherwise the Raps will loose him.

The best back up PG is Barbosa, and Toronto will definitly hold on to Jose.
