I used to temp as a chef, but sometimes catering jobs were not available, so I was sent to factory's. Some were OK, bit monotonous, but OK.
The worst was a kettle factory.Everyone who worked there was a temp, apart from management.
We were picked up in a mini bus at 7am, and driven 45mins to an outhouse in the middle of nowhere.
Then, we were sat like sardines along a long table,-the production line-, and we each had a separate job to do, like put in the element, put a screw in the element, tighten the screw. Moronic stuff.
My job was to insert the water gauge, and I couldn't do it. I thought this hilarious, but the supervisor was real annoyed, I didn't give a sh*t, I was only there for one day, so I was laughing away. The rest were all cowering, saying they don't like you talking....
I thought the day would never end. I don't know how the others went back each day, I stopped doing factory jobs after that, and didn't work unless it was catering. At least I could afford to do that

Being a Sales Rep at a video game store. I worked only 8 hours a week where as everyone else got full time, no matter how many times I asked for more hours. And I was still expected to sell the same amount of membership cards as the rest of the guys. They couldn't sell them in the 40 hours they worked so how was I supposed to sell them in only 8? My boss was a idiotic jerk who had no business being in that position. There's more to it, I just don't have the time to keep typing about it. I eventually just stopped going in. I hated that job

I worked in a carpet warehouse doing the bookkeeping, the job itself wasn't too bad, just the people I worked with, the boss thought he was something special and lorded around the place, and never paid any bills. So I had to fight with the creditors on the phone everyday. As my 'assistant' was some bitter old dear who did everything in her power to get as many personal digs in at me in a day as possible!! So I guess it bordered on bullying, lasted 3 months and left. The shop closed down within a year, not surprised

working as a cashier at a dirty hardware store---and the majority of customers were rednecks, hicks, tweakers (druggies) or old men and I got hit on every single day with corny lines by these men who acted like they never saw a girl before, and I had to stand there all day on my feet and pretend to enjoy it. Also it smelled of fertilizers and it made me nauseous after awhile, 2 other employees also experienced the symptoms I had after awhile too such as vomiting and headaches while working there. That was mainly why I quit.

Working for a shitty Technical Support Company called 'Stream'. I used to support MSN. People used to yell and fuss all the time about software not working. Those Irate customers gave me a headache. Technical Support is a very stressful job.It sucks when you do that in a call center. It is easier to fix the yourself than on the phone. Plus when you get calls after calls it becomes very frustrating.

Paint factory. I worked a spray booth that painted caps the color of the paint inside the bottle. If I were to blow my nose after work I could tell what color was used that day. I hate to think what that did to my lungs.
