Periodically, my mouse freezes and then after a day or so it unfreezes. Example, I'm typing this question and if I pause for about 5 seconds or more before clicking "Next", I have to double click to get my mouse to work. As I say, after a day or two it reverts to normal single click action. I've checked the settings to see if there's anything there that might explain, but I can't see anything. It's annoying because it means the cursor is frozen whereever it is - often on a link - and by the time the mouse comes back to life, the link has opened, and that is rarely the action I want. By the way, it is a wireless mouse.

Are Your Mouse And Keyboard Both Wireless ?

And If So Are They Different Models?

Then They Are Interfering With Each-other, You Need To Get Either;

- A Wired Keyboard, To Stop The Two Signals Clashing
or
- Get A Same Model Mouse As Your Keyboard.

If They Are The Same Type Of Mouse, Or Your Keyboard Is Wired, Then Move Your Reciver Of Your Mouse Closer To The Mouse Itself.
And Do The Simple's Like Defrag, Batteries, Virus Scan [AVG], and Spyware Scan [Spybot S&D].

Otherwise, I'm Out-Of-Ideas, Get A New Mouse.

And Good Luck!

Normally I'd say test it with another mouse, but it will more than likely be your PC rather than your mouse. In which case have your PC checked out, probably just needs a good clean; temp files, scan, defrag & such.

But as it's a wireless mouse, have you checked the batteries? I'm actually having the same problem, but it's my rechargeable batteries which are the problem, not the mouse.

As a person who has the same problem I can understand you. If you are using Vista like me you were probably deceived when you saw it is written for Windows Vista on your Mouse's pack before buying it. Stupid programmers probably didnt have enough time to test the mouse fully on Vista and they wanted to take advantage of shortage of products compatible with vista. I have a connect button on my mouse so I have to try to reconnect the receiver of the mouse every time it freezes. Sometime it takes me a few tries to succeed. I tried to switch off and on the mouse and it didnt work. I changed the batteries and it didnt work. And restarting your computer also doesnt work. All I can say it is because of drivers of your mouse. Just change it as I will do or check for new driver updates on the net.

This may sound silly, but have you tried replacing or recharging the batteries? My friend had a wireless and it was a pain in the backside because the batteries would die and it would freeze halfway thru a computer game. I stick to wired mouse and keyboard.

Have you tried changing the batteries? Strange behaviour is often the first sign of them needing to be done.
