i want to install vista on my harddisk. i insert the cd, connect harddisk. now i need to change the boot order to:
1. CD-ROm (which i cn do)
2. My harddisk

In the boot devices list are the following things:
-Removable Storage
Legacy Floppy Drives
-Hard Drive
IC25NO20ATMR04-0-(PM)
CR-ROM Drive
IBA 4.0.2 Slot o240

my question - which one of these is mr harddisk? i assumed it'll be in removable storage, but there's only floppy drive there. ne1 cn help?

sry, but i forgot 2 tell u that im installing vista on my EXTERNAL harddisk. i want 2 kno which one of them is my EXTERNAL harddisk

i looked around..
is htis ur hard drive specs "IBM Travelstar 30 Gig 4200rpm" ?
i think IC25NO20ATMR04-0-(PM) is your hard drive...it doesn't hurt to try this one, if it doesn't work try the Hard Drive option...vista wont save any changes till you are done with the installation setup, so u can back out before that..just dont format and lose your data!

you mean you got two HDD...one internal and the other is external usb?? or not?? if you want to know in the list which is you hard disk its the "hard drive" select it.
