Rent a car. This will give you some freedom though the public bus runs up and down the strip and you can get passes and transfers very reasonably. Parking is free at all the casinos.

Ask the people working in the casinos what they do on their day off. We always find specials that way. Saw the Mandalay Bay Shark show for $5 instead of $15 that way.

See everything that is free. Lots of entertainment like the fountains at the Bellagio, etc.

Go to Fremont street. This is old Vegas and is loaded with character. Also loaded with lots of cheap food. Look for ads at the casinos. $1 shrimp cocktails, $1 hot dogs, etc. kind of fun. My husband loves to see how much he can save that way.

Sign up for the players cards at every casino you enter. They give out coupon books and you should review. Some have free stuff.

On on-line and Google Free Stuff in Las Vegas. You will be amazed at what you find. Several sites. Print and take coupons with you.

We love the casino at the Stratosphere. They slots seem a bit looser and the poker pit is very friendly. If you don't play Texas Hold 'em they will have a dealer sit down and show you how to play.

Terribles is not on the strip but on the main road coming from the airport, at the corner you turn right on to go to the strip. Visit. It is worth the trip. Very funny and hokey. The buffet however is the best in town we think and with the player's card and coupons the buffet is WAY cheap.

One last thing. If you plan on gambling take the amount of money you can afford to lose and stop there. Do not get cash advances on your credit cards. If you lose it all then be done with gambling and have fun seeing and doing.

Have fun.

You don't have to spend that much money to have fun in Vegas. The first time I went, I made sure to go into every single casino, just to see what they were like. Each one of them has something special to it, like at Mandolay Bay, they have a really great exhibit set up with sting rays, lizards, alligators, sharks, etc. They also have a touch pool. Go down tp the Stratosphere and ride the coaster on top of the building. It's crazy!!! The pools are great at all of the hotels! Take your pick!! Also, make sure that when it gets dark, you go outside and watch all the light shows up and down the strip. It's beautiful. Make sure you ride the gondalas at the Venetian. It's very romantic and beautiful. Our boat guy was hilarious, but he sang really well. One evening, take a taxi or a shuttle and go down to Freemont Street to see the laser light show. It was so pretty that I was awestruck. You can't believe how beautiful this show is. And, the slots, I found, paid off a little better down there. You really don't have to spend the big bucks in Vegas. As long as you play the slots or tables, they will bring you drinks free. Great service. The food is cheap. They have at least 1 buffet at every casino. To me, the room was not that important. We used it to sleep about 3 hours every night and the rest of the time, we were out and about. So, why not stay somewhere cheap and spend your money doing other things. We stayed at Stratosphere for $35 a night (during the week) and the roooms were comfortable. That's all you need. Have a great time. Soon, I will be going back to Vegas for the 9th time. Can't wait!!!

1. Pedestrians do not have the right of way on the Strip.
2. This is a tipping town.
3. If you want to save money, hit up the cheap breakfast buffets.
4. Always have your id with you.
5. If you are a clubber, make sure your dressed properly or you won't get in.
6. ATMs have a withdrawal max in most casinos.
7. Free drinks while gambling- instead of asking for a gin and tonic, say "I would like a double Tangueray and Tonic"-more alcohol and better tasting.
8. Take advantage of the free schuttles or the Deuce.

I am going to Vegas July 19-22. It will be my third time there. I am also getting married there on Friday the 20th. Can't wait. My tips for Vegas are...

Budget your money, if you have 1000 dollars and are out there for 5 days, give yourself 200 dollars a day to spend.

Have fun, its Vegas !

Swim, or sight see durning the day, and gamble at night, its more fun that way!

Bring a camera, and take lots of pictures!

Eat at Tony Roma's if you have the chance, steak is very good there.

Bring a good pair of walking shoes, things are not as close as they appear and you do a lot of walking!

Go to OLD Vegas for a night, watch the show in the sky!

Good luck and have fun! Its going to be HOT

If you're flying there, then make a car rental reservation as the cost of a cab is expensive. It's been many years since I last visited and it cost $15 to go from the strip (Caesar's Palace) to downtown! But definitely get to the downtown area and enjoy the sights and lights! Obviously, if you're not a gambler, don't get caught up thinking just $20 more and I know I'm gonna wim...the house ALWAYS WINS! I'd take in as many of the new hotels on the strip as possible...so much to see and enjoy your trip! P.S.~~Buffets are the best in the world, here!

a million) don't get sucked in staying 'necessary Strip.' the fee for those motels are far extra costly than those on the extra in. i could recommend staying at in step with danger an older inn on the Strip, or on Fremont and utilizing the money you hold on upgrading to a sequence. 2) do not attempt to do too a lot/plan too a lot at as quickly as. %. 2 or 3 key issues you pick to do, and then permit your self play it by utilizing ear. We tried to do each thing and left exhausted and overwhelmed. 3) Set a shrink on playing, and think of approximately that money would be long previous. evaluate it entertainment, and attempt to not think of approximately triumphing. Gamble pennies, etc on the Fremont St - the money will final longer than one greenback machines and blackjack tables. 4) Take a digicam, see a teach if possible, and don't drink a lot which you will forget the trip. 5) attempt someplace new to eat. puppy peeve of mine i assume. i don't understand why human beings will trip many miles for a 'new journey' just to eat at a place they are able to get returned homestead - which contain McDonalds. attempt homestead of Blues, Emerils, etc. 6) beverages whilst playing are loose, yet foodstuff/beverages are spendy customarily, extremely water. My husband and that i planned $a hundred and twenty an afternoon for foodstuff ($30 for breakfast, $40 for lunch, and $50 for dinner). We did not consistently spend that a lot, yet at cases we did, or went over. be attentive to extra beneficial expenses that would decrease into your play money.
