If its for commercial use... use Motorola Canopy, Proxim, Tanzeo, SmartBridges, etc.
These were built for rugged use and provide highly configurable networks. They do cost alot more than SOHO or Home use equipment.
If you just need SOHO or Home use routers then Dlink or Linksys are ok.

That will depend on the distances and load the router will be expected to cover. My daughter's school uses Linksys WTR54G wireless routers. The have one about every 30 feet, and 1500 students. For an entry level router it performs remarkable well.
You can add high gain antennas to extend the coverage.

Get a Linksys WRT54G version 4 or earlier and flash it with DD-WRT or OpenWRT. It is amazing how cheap you can get these routers and then with a simple firmware flash turn them into something much more valuable. DD-WRT will let you turn a cheap wireless router into a client bridge, allows you set up hotspots, mount shares etc.
