How about a more scientific answer (and hopefully, a best one). The power of lightning does not just lie in its heat or in its electrical value, but also in something called the electromagnetic pulse, or EMP. You can still be affected anywhere within about 30 feet from a lightning strike by the effect of the EMP in the body. The effect is temporary, but is there nonetheless. I've experienced both, including being struck in my own home, but that's another story.

well if you ALMOST got struck by lightining that is if lightining struck close to you your hair would stand up on end you would have goose bumps possible metal taste in mouth fingers would tingle like they were asleep could possibly be nauseated

I remember reading a survivor story where this guy was struck by lightening while in the midst of a group of people. He survived (a survivor story, duh!) but, everyone around him was shot back at least 6 feet while some were even knocked unconscious.

actually, if it was a very close hit . you could experience some sickness for awhile. i got sick by a near hit once years ago. can happen.

you may get negatively or positively charged and get goose bumps and also all your hair may get straightned
