Zelda twilight princess is a must for a Wii owner, Resident Evil 4 Wii version is one not to be missed (best game on gamecube).
The internet browser is exactly what it says, you download it for free (until end of June) from the Wii shopping channel and it gives you access to the internet. (It's not a pc, so you cant download things, but absolutely fine for browsing, e-mailing, shopping etc.) All you need is access to the internet either by a router or usb cable as the Wii is wireless and picks it up. Games are saved on to the Wii itself although you can expand the memory by buying a memory card, (I haven't found it necessary).
You can lie it down or stand it up, it makes no difference, unless you are playing a gamecube game, then it needs to be laid down so you dont pull it over with the gamecube controllers! Hope this answers your questions.

You'll definitely want to get Zelda -- that's a must for any Wii owner. You'd also like Raving Rabbids.

Internet browsing is basically the full internet on an Opera browser, done through a wireless connection & an on-screen keyboard.

You don't have to stand to play games, but you don't want to have anybody in the same bed as you unless they're awake. You also can't quite get a good swing in any of the Wii Sports games while laying down, but most other games I've played do not require standing.

You need wireless router and no peripherals. You can save games and down load old Nintendo games with no peripherals also (just a wii credit card to purchase down load old games) . Game cube controllers and games work also. Your on your own as far as what games to purchase first.

I never tried playing while lying down but it sounds kinda hard. I usually play sitting down and rarely play standing up.
