This is a real test of their intentions now....If this really is about finding Madeleine, they would drop EVERYTHING and go there NOW! Wouldnt you?
I understand that there have been "sightings" before that have been false, but this seems different. Ive read theres now 6 different sightings, the Maltese Police seem to be taking it seriously, so why arnt the McCanns?
I would be on a plane and on my way. Even if nothing comes of it, its GOT to be worth going, surely? The McCanns would recognise things about their child that others wouldnt, like the way she walks, her mannerisms, tone of voice etc, they should be there RIGHT NOW, in the area she was supposedly spotted, scanning every child and just WATCHING. They OWE her that much, at least!
I just cant get my head around these people at all. WTF are they thinking? ARE they thinking? Out of all the stuff Ive read, this has angered me the most. Fecking balloons and kites with Maddys face on them are coming before a possibility that they could see Madeleines face FOR REAL??
I DONT CARE HOW MANY THUMBS DOWN I GET FOR THIS, OR VIOLATIONS... Slate me and call me evil if you want, send me abusive e.mails, its all been done before, I dont care...If these 2 people dont get on a plane and check this out TODAY, they are SCUM.

I got the Daily Irish Mirror this morning and I read Maddie has been spotted 11 times in Malta. I think they should NOT ignore any glimmer of hope. Another parent would be out there like a shot. As you say if they don't go, then they really are sick and after the money.

I don't think they'll go to Malta, after all they didn't go to Morocco at the time of the possible sighting there. They went to other places first.
Considering the money at their disposal they haven't yet done anything that any normal, desperate parent would have done. They haven't explored areas where sightings have occurred and they haven't hired private detectives.
Everything about this case is quite extraordinary.

Mind you, the scuba diving is pretty good out there, maybe the sorry excuse of parents could go over and organise a Maggie mass scuba event... that would work (as well as any of the other scams) they could charge an entry fee, print up waterproof posters and get the divers to turn stones over, while all the time playing the "Songs for Maddie" box CD set through underwater speakers...

Surely it should be the police going to Malta, not the McCanns.
I'm not sure any of the tour has worked at all. It's the police who have the power to grill, detain, arrest and search. It's their job.
The McCanns should stay put - and certainly not go to London to interview campaign managers.

have you thought about this? maybe it's all a distraction to the kidnappers....
why come to malta though??? the place is small and swarmed with people, it;s not as though they can remain hidden for long, there people are very curious, and also a lot in touch with what;s going on.... most of them anyway

I REALLY try to avoid the Madeline questions on here but Ive just read the news and I HAD to answer!! Theyre not taking it seriously until its been investigated properly. Instead, theyre choosing to arrange more events and release balloons. Balloons for f**ks sakes!!! If it was me, Id be straight over to Malta to speak to the authories and chase and chase and chase for answers. Balloons.... f**k me..... they REALLY dont care any more!

Well I would certainly hope that is where they will be heading now seeing as the police are taking it so seriously as to have alerted all ports and airports in Malta.

i totally agree, i have just read the story and thought the same thing!
it say's maddie's parents aren't going to malta, instead they're releasing balloons! WHAT????????

I think theyshould go, Id be following every sighting up, even if the police weren't.
But will it stop Gerry doing his daily blog?? maybe they don't want to dissappoint all them thousands of people who are more interested in his meetings and his wife's daily jogs.
