In a way its close as both are among the best to ever play the game. But from an individual standpoint.....honestly, its not even close. The only people that would vote for Bird are anyone from French Lick, Indiana, Boston, or if you love the KKK.
If you polled every single player from all the years they played in the league (and exclude Bulls and Celtics players), I'm sure 99.99% of them would say its Jordan. (The 2 voters voting for Bird being Isiah and Craig Ehlo).

As great as an offensive weapon and rebounder Larry Legend was, he couldn't pack MJ's jock strap. I'm serious. Are u serious? Are u kidding me? Jordan is perhaps the greatest bballer of all-time. His numbers say it all. Check out NBA.com, let it do my talking for me. Compare the two players. Compare their performances in the regular and the post seasons. Check out their head to head matchups. Man, Jordan ruled, not just Bird--but the league in his day. Can you say 63 against the Celts. Can you say 33.4 playoff scoring avg. How about 5 time NBA MVP, 6 time finals MVP, 10 time all NBA first team, 9 time all defense, Defensive MVP in 87/88, lead league in scoring 10 times, 3 all star game mvps, 2 slam dunk titles, career average of 30.1 pts per game and I almost forgot he has 2 Olympic gold medals to go along with his rookie of the Year hardware. He also has his own shoe, a statue outside of the Arena in Chicago and everybody including Kobe Bryants (punkass) wants to be like him. Trust me man, Larry was nice---I mean his game was serious but at the end of the day, its Jordan.

Larry Bird. The only reason why Jordan is slighty more famous is because when Larry bird was playing, he had magic tagging along to share the fame; while Jordan was dominant in his decade, no one can even come close.

This is a tough one but I would have to say MJ. MJ was a better overall player and a better leader but Bird sure can shot the lights out...

It's actually hard to answer this question because both are arguably the best to ever play the game. Both were both awesome in their own regards. But if I had to choose I would have to say Jordan because he, in my opinion was the more complete player of the two.

its easy. MJ. Larry bird made plays but MJ mad plays that we remeber even today. MJ on a skill level but alos on a entertainment level
