The evidence: Late career success, fingered by two former players ( canseco, grimsley), trainer linked to roid scandal. Is the Rocket legit or a cheat?

100 Percent yes. He doesnt have to be jacked to be on roids. Pitchers take advantage of HGh because it shortens their recovery time between starts, makes them less prone to injury, and keeps them as fresh in August as they were in April. Hes pathetic.

Jeff, once again, you're an idiot. HGh doesnt make you a god that can win the Cy Young into your 60's, but he would not be anywhere near a baseball field if it werent for HGh. The reason he cant last past 5 innings this year or throw 95 is the weight he has to push towards home plate every time he throws the ball. That would wear anyone out, especially someone over 40. Now, take your tongue out of Clemens' ***, and say something meaningful.

No.

Clemens HAS had late-career success, but not the way that you would think. Is his last season in the American League, 2003, his ERA was over 4. He went to the National League, where most of the players had not faced him, and where pitchers hit, and his ERA dropped below 3.00.

Clemens may have had success, but not because of HGH. Bonds bat speed increased, Clemens fastball has lost velocity, and he's at 91-92 now. If he was on steroids or HGH, wouldn't he be able to go more than 5-6 innings and still be able to throw 95-96? It's that great splitter of his, and being able to pitch around the #8 hitter and to pitch to weak-hitting pitchers that allowed him to dominate the N.L. Now that he's back in the A.L. you'll see his ERA climb again, proving that his success the past three years was not steroid or HGH enhanced.

Legend.

I really don't think that crazytownjay knows what he is talking about. His answer makes no sense and he fails to explain why he thinks Clemens is on steroids. If Clemens was taking performance enhancers, then why isn't he throwing harder? Why isn't he able to throw more than 100 pitches? Exactly why is Clemens "pathetic"?

I have to add something here. Clemens was not a "beanpole" as a young guy. First of all, 99% of people gain weight as they get older and fill out. Of course Clemens has gotten bigger over the years. Who hasn't? It's natural. People in their 40s do not look the same as they did at 24. Also, if you ever see replays of the '86 World Series, Clemens was still a big guy, not big by today's standards, but huge for the time, well over 200 pounds. Bonds gained a ton of muscle overnight, Clemens has added weight over the years, both because people add weight as they get older, and due to his workouts. Some players actually DO gain weight the right way.

He was a bean pole as a young pitcher and now 20+ years later he is an ox? Well that is a little bit typical of all of us is it not, do not gain size as we gain age, until we then reverse the trend?

When Clemens was young in his career and Nolan Ryan was finishing up there was talk of who could pitch as long as Nolan did...Clemens was one of the only ones that anyone could make a case for, why because his motion is fluid and can handle the stress of pitching.

He did do great things to gain late in his career but the biggest change came from two things...first he felt slighted by the Sox and namely Dan Duquette, this made him work harder than he had in some time. Secondly, there was the last phase of expansion right about then...what expansion has now done is put minor leaguers on major league rosters so a power pitcher does not have to worry as much about a guy hitting a 95+ heater with movement likes Clemens throws because he is still in learning mode. He only pitches 5 or 6 innings a game at this point which is all the time he can because the third time guys would zero in on that fastball.

Did he use steriods...probably not......did he use HGH...maybe but we have no proof what so ever and we are innocent until proven guilty here in the USA.

I think he is legit. Over the years they have shown him and his workouts in the off season. Very intense. He is a great competitor, also. I think if he was on HGH, he would pitch the whole season and you would see him still winning 20 and so on. Nolan Ryan, another Texan, also pitched as an old man and had great success, including another no hitter.

i develop into going to ask in case you have ever heavily considered the possiblity that Clemens may well be telling the fact, yet then I observed your P.S. no count number how skinny Clemen's denials seem, you ought to extremely ask your self what kind of professional athletic coach might: a million. Inject a customer with an unlawful substance, understanding you ought to bypass to detention center in case you acquire caught doing so. 2. save the syringes that are the only actual evidence which you have achieved so around for 6 YEARS, basically waiting for somebody to stumble for the time of them. 3. Spill the beans on all your action picture star purchasers whilst asked with the help of a third celebration investigator, understanding you ought to bypass to detention center for doing so. 4. Confess to each thing at that factor, yet fail to show the syringes to the investigator. 5. record a defamation extra wholesome against your maximum properly generic customer whilst he denies the allegations you have made that ought to smash what's left of his profession. 6. AFTER spilling the beans on him, tell him on the telephone that he's your place kind mutually as, interior the comparable communication... 7. REFUSING to attend a press convention with him and retract your statements to the third-celebration investigator. 8. finally, weeks after the super tale breaks, "without notice" modern-day the hidden syringes to government investigators, understanding that in the event that they prepare what you suggested to the investigators, you ought to be offering them with the evidence that they should deliver you to detention center. I recommend, it would all have long gone down the way he suggested, and Clemens might extremely be mendacity, yet does not all that seem a touch suspicious to you, to?

I dont think he used them, or at least I don't want to. If he did use something it was late in his career when his legacy was already secure. No one will ever know who used and who didn't, but the evidence surrounding Roger is a lot less than what is following the sluggers like Bonds. If he was using then he should start up again...he looked terrible today.
