1. Shaquille O'neal because he is a proven player and he is the most dominant center in the last decade
2. Kobe Bryant simply because he is the best individual basketball player. Lebron James showed his flaws in the NBA Finals. So I give Bryant the edge.
3. Michael Jordan because he is perhaps the greatest player of all time.
4. Wilt Chamberlain because of his dominant style of basketball and his athleticism. He is the only player to average 50+ points in a season.
5. Steve Nash because he is the most dominant point guard in the last 4 years and he has proved himself to be the leader of a potential NBA champion.
6. Tim Duncan because of his leadership that brought 4 championships in 9 seasons to San Antonio Spurs.

Shaq because he has proven to be a winner - Oden could be a bust
James - because Bryant athough he is a great player has been poisonous since before he was drafted. He forced the trade to LA, he forced Shaq out etc etc. James is a reasonably constructive prescence in a team.
Jordan - Magic was a wonderful talent but Jordan just edges him.
Wilt or Kareen? Hell thats a no lose proposition. It would depend if I had a passing team (then Kareem) or a drive the ball inside (Wilt)
Stockton - Nash is a great player but Stockton was the finest PG in the game for a long, long time
Duncan - Karl Malone was a great talent but Duncan is a winner. Duncan makes those around him better and lifts the Spurs up to title faves despite the lack of other up front threats.

1. Shaq. Too easy, even though I think Oden will be GREAT. Just, you can't not pick a proven career like Shaqs over Oden who hasn't played a game yet.
2. Kobe. If age mattered of course Lebron, but obviously this doesn't factor age. Lebron's limitations really showed in the Finals and Kobe has been the best player in the game for the past 3 years.
3. Oooh, toughest question ever. Both offensive powerhouses. MJ gets an advantage due to defense. Magic gets an advantage cuz PG is a more important and harder to fill role than SG. Slightest of edge goes to MJ.
4. Kareem. People forget HOW dominant and athletic Kareem was as well. They just remember old Kareem and his sky hook, but they had to forbid dunking for a while in college cuz of this guy. And the sky hook, most unstoppable shot ever.
5. Stockton. Honestly, I don't even think its that close. Yeah Nash is the "hot" guy cuz he's playing now. But Stockton's leadership and skills and drive are all underrated. Most underrated thing about Stockton is that he played great defense....something Nash doesn't do at all.
6. Duncan.

Shaquille O'Neal or Greg Oden?
Winner: Shaquille O'Neal (Is there a player more dominant in his prime, who is currently playing in the NBA?)
Kobe Bryant or LeBron James?
Winner: LeBron James (People are knocking him about the NBA final's result more than giving him credit for dragging Cleveland into uncharted waters - the NBA finals.)
Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson?
Winner: Michael Jordan (Even Magic Johnson would pick Michael and that says a lot.)
Wilt Chamberlin or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?
Winner: Wilt Chamberlin (Tough choice between arguably 2 of the greatest centers in NBA history. Wilt gets the nod for his all-around ability.)
Steve Nash or John Stockton?
Winner: Steve Nash (A 2-time regular season MVP (Nash) vs. a point guard (Stockton) who took his team to the finals twice (but lost). Nash turns role players into stars, which is more than what I can say for many point guards these days.)
Tim Duncan or Karl Malone?
Winner: Tim Duncan (Isn't winning 4 titles in the last 10 years enough to justify the cause?)

Shaquille O' Neal, in his first year alone he let everyone feel how dominant he is.
Kobe Bryant much more talented. Delivers at clutch unlike someone I know....
Michael Jordan simply the best...
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, how many records does this man shattered in his career, his career points may never be equaled...
Steve Nash much, and I say much entertaining to watch, and he's MVP right?
Tim Duncan, steady...

Kobe because of Lebron's poor finals performance.
Jordan, beat Magic and the Lakers in the finals.
Kareem, better free throw shooter.
Stockton.
