I've heard that it's best to never borrow or lend things, specially from friends, and I believe it. I leant one of my favorite Doors CD to a friend and she never gave it back. But I've learnt my lesson and I'm not lending anything else.

not unless it's for my best friend, I've had bad experiences lending stuff to people. the stuff either doesn't come back to me or the stuff comes back to me damaged. it's not the material side, what gets to me is that I'm supposed to be able to trust people with my stuff and if i can take care of other people's things, why can't they do the same? i think it's more of a moral issue. material things come and go but trust doesn't

I don't lend things to friends. I give my friends things while saying they can "borrow it". When your friends keep it, it's not quite "lending," is it?

I hear ya. I've loaned stuff to my friends and never got them back too. I've learned to ask for it back now.

It all depends on what type of friends. I usually keep my stuffs to myself.
