I believe what you may be experiencing is anxiety..take a deep breath and examine your thoughts...very carefully...perhaps a physician can help you discern these events and give you a solution...

Wow. Don't think of it as clutter, but that you are growing a beautiful garden in your mind. And you get some wonderful flowers (good ideas) but also some weeds (obsessive thoughts).
You could try yoga to quiet your mind and let you get some sleep, and help you concentrate.
But in general, I think it's better to have a full mind than an empty one. Anyway, you have no idea what's going on in another person's mind. Those clear-headed folks might be racing a million miles a minute, too.

Well... in my perspective... THAT'S GOOD... all bright minds had to use their minds in order to succeed. You're no different than anyone, only difference is that you actually USE the brain God gave you... if you only thought about the yes-es and no-s of things... how boring would your life be... the "what ifs" in life is what makes us think... its how the light bulb was made, fire was discovered... the wheel! ... think about it...
and besides... those who are content go through life missing out on the possibilities... and yet none of them have a purpose... and you just might... you just have to find it and fulfill it...
do yourself a favor and right down your ideas... cuz trust me, a bright mind like your might have its flaws... and those ideas might never come back to you... HOPE YOU BECOME THE NEXT.... ummm i don know... someone important!!

Yoga can slow down the ideas, but an active mind is great too.... When people have enough of everything, I think they can be content and take one idea at a time and focus on it, rather than try to juggle them all at once b/c something is out of balance in their lives. maybe?

This is quite natural. If you see (perceive) a lot, naturally you will have more ideas in your mind. Moreover, sensitivity also plays a vital role. Lookslike you are very sensitive. To reduce it, you should do some exercise.

well i'm like you. i always have something going thru my mind. and it bugs me. i think it's just the way people learn how to do thngs and that's how they're brought up in life as they get older. it could also be genetics from your mom or dad.
