Hi guys, I'm going to Athens this august for 10 days, and I'd like to see a couple of sights. Since I'm low on the budget, any help would be appreciated as well.
I'd like to go to Santorini, the Delphi, the Acropolis, Posideon's temple, as well as any other nice attractions and places to visit.
How would I get to such places from Athens..I know we're staying right in Athens, so thanks!

Acropolis is right in the center of Athens, so it is easy. Depending on where you live, you can either take the metro or walk. The ticket costs 12 euros, or is free if you are a student or below 18 and is valid for more archaeological sites in the area (Roman Agora, theatre of Dionysos, Stiloi Olympiou Dios and something else).
Sounio (Poseidon's temple) is about 50-60 km from Athens, there are buses leaving from the park Pedion tou Areos - or you can catch it on the way, i.e. on Syggrou Avenue.
Santorini is about 4-5 hours from Pireaus (the more expensive the ferry, the faster you get there) www.gtp.gr - the island is expensive anyway.
You can only drive to Lefkada by bus, it should also take 5-6 hours. Unfortunately the buses (KTEL) do not anymore have a site, so I do not know details, but more info can be provided by the information offices of the greek tourism organisation. http://www.gnto.gr/pages.php?pageID=158&langID=2

While in Athens, you can also try
- the bus tour for 5 euros - line 100 http://www.oasa.gr/index.asp?pageid=105
- go to Lycabettus hill in the evening to enjoy the view (not in the morning, it is too hot and Athens does not look so nice) - you will either walk or take the funicular for 5 euros
- check if you are interested in any show of the greek festival (especially if they take place in Herodio) http://www.greekfestival.gr/athens_fest/home_page?lang=en
- visit the area Gazi in the evening
And do not eat anywhere in Plaka, it is not worth it.

There are buses, called "ktel", and ferries that leave from Piraeus. There are also many offices that arrange daily tours to these places. When you go to Delphi, don't miss the nearby Byzantine monastery of Hosios Loukas.
The Acropolis is in the centre of Athens, you can walk or take the metro.

To go to Acropolis, you can just take the metro.
You can visit Lefkada and all the other destinations(apart from Santorini) you mentioned, with the bus (ktel).
You will take the ferry from the port of Piraeus to go to Santorini..
