i think the point that the people against stem cell research are trying to make is that there shouldnt even BE embryos being thrown away because abortion is bad and somehow it could have ended up being a baby *_*. however, stem cells can be obtained from other sources than just embryos so soon enough stem cell research will be more widely accepted and pursued.
