I am trying to decide on a name for my baby. I want something pretty or ususual, but not something that's gonna get him or her teased in school in a few years. Any ideas? Boy and girl names. Thank you!

I'm not sure how unique it is but I named my daughter Lilia. I never heard of the name until someone came into the office I worked at with that name and I just fell in love with it. Granted I always liked the Lily type names like Lily, Lillian, Lilith etc but always thought they were too common. But there are a lot of really pretty girl names so good luck! As for boys name, I have no idea since I never had a son. I'm hoping I will though for my next pregnancy (whenever that will be). My sister in law who is pregnant said if she has a son she will name is Massimo. It's a nice name but I wouldn't have picked it lol. Anyway, good luck!!

I've always been a fan of the name Tobias. Depending where you're from it's different. I've found I'm just fond of foreign names for boys. I also like Mattias, Silas... (Guess I must have something for the "s" at the end of a name.)

My daughter will be born in Sep. And he name will be Eden. But someone mentioned Simone earlier. That's a beautiful name.

I have an odd preference in names though... good luck with your search!

The prettiest / most unusual name i've ever heard was a Fear Factor contestant, Chrissandra (like Christina + Cassandra) I think that's a really beautiful name. I also love Alessandra (a form of Alexandra) and i have a friend named Kaylynn, which is a kind of rare, but pretty name.

For boys, maybe Tobin (toby for short), or Joaquin (wa-KEEN).

I used to do reading at a kindergarten. A name that I thought was unusual was Laykin. There were 2 in the class a girl and a boy. The boy spelt his name Laken.

Hmm. Names of places are quite nice..but be careful because they COULD..just could cause some teasing. There is a boy in my school called Blue aswell. He gets teased by his friends but it is in a joking manner..and he doesn't mind. So colours as names are pretty.
For Example.
Amber - F Blue - M
Azure - F Crimson - M
Mauve - F Grey - M
Ruby - F
Teal -F

There arn't alot of male names in this category..but there are plenty of girls..I got them names... here...

I have a cousin name Soleigh (sole-lei) and can go by Soli for short. I love her name. For a boy? Well I heard of the name Deacon and Trendon. I thought both were kinda cool.

I have always liked putting names together like her first name is mary her middle name is kate but you could make her full name be mary kate. That is sorta cool. For name ideas I have always liked Lillian or Lilliana. Ohh and Natalia is also pretty. or Natalie. Or from the gilmore girls Rory or Lorelai [my name i may add] are also unique.

for a girl I like Aoibheal pronounced Ah Veel its gaelic for golden one. I also like Iolanthe pronounced Io lawn tha, its ancient greek for violet.

for boys I like Acheron pronounced Ash a Ron, in greek mythology it was one of the rivers that seperated this world from the underworld. I also like Circenn pronounced Sir Sin, it was a name used by the royal Brude's when the picts ruled Scotland.
