cubic root of x^2 = 9

take an exponent of 3 for both sides
x^2 = 729

take a square root
x = 27 or -27

cube root(x^2) = 9
x^2 = 9^3
x^2 = 729
x^2 - 729 = 0
(x-27)(x+27) = 0
x = 27 or x = -27

x^(2/3) = 9
x = 9^(3/2)
x = Â± 27
