Catholics are actually pretty decent for the most part... A lot of them believe that it's not the actual homosexuality that's a sin, but the homosexual acts. That's why it's ok for a priest to be gay.

The Catholic Church also says it is a sin to get divorced and remarried. A true Catholic can only get re-married if the church annules the marriage.

Both divorce and sodomy (not homosexuality) are an equal level sin, least in the eyes of the current Catholic Writ. It would seem that Mr Benedict strongly disagrees with the current standing and has published several papers in this regard.

its not a sin to be a homosexual. It is however a sin to engage in sex with anything but a person of the opposite gender.
As for Jesus dying on the cross for your sins, that is just some hocus-pocus crap the Roman catholic church made up to win more converts. Once you get to heaven, you'll be told it doesn't apply. Judaism says so, Islam says so, Sikkhism, hinduism and buddhism all imply you will be accountable for your sins in the afterlife.

What the Catholic church says is irrelevant.

GOD says that homosexuality (men that lay with men) is wrong.

Sadly however it appears that the modern christian church has lost it's way. In an attempt to raise the numbers in failing congregations, a large number of church leaders have decided (contrary to God's word) to allow homosexuals into their churches, and even bless their relationships!

No wonder so many people are confused by the mixed signals given out, and that is why there are a large number of non-believers!

Here's a simple way to identify a true christian. Ask him/her any question you can think of, about God or Jesus. If they simply just answer, be wary!

If however, they produce a bible, and show where the source of their information comes from, you should be pretty safe with THEIR answer!

No it's not a sin to be homosexual . The Catholic Church is just against what homosexuals are doing.

Let's take this one piece at a time. Shall we?

No. Merely being homosexual is not a sin. Homosexual acts, on the other hand, are sinful on account of the fact such acts violate the Christian Virtue of Chastity. They are not the only sexual acts which violate chastity. There are many - many - heterosexual acts that also violate the Christian Virtue of Chastity as well.

Why don't we look to the Catechism of the Catholic Church?

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices.

As you can see, merely being a homosexual is not a sin, but homosexual acts are.

Something tells me you already know the correct answer to this question. You know unrepented sins are not automatically forgiven in the afterlife. The full meaning and purpose of Jesus' passion death and resurrection are still not known to us. What we do know is that forgiveness of sins is a Gift from God. As with any gift, even a gift from the Almighty, it can be rejected. Holding onto unrepented sins is how one rejects God's gift of forgiveness. God so respects our free will that, as much as He wants to forgive us our sins, He will not force His forgiveness upon anyone who does not want it.

Therefore, it is spirtiually reckless for you to assume (without good cause) that all of one's sins are automatically forgiven upon earthly death.

<....also is it a SIN TO LIE about it????>>

The Commandment reads "Thou shall not lie." It does not say, "Thou shall not lie. . . 'except in cases involving whatever'".

<<...Ex-president Bill Clinton's .."don't ask, don't tell (if you are asked...sooo lie).POLICY>>

Bill Clinton also said, "I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinski.", only to follow that up with, "Indeed I did have relations..." Remember that? Bill Clinton is no beacon of moral integrity. Do yourself a favor and not take morality tips from Bill Clinton.

Besides, his Don't Ask Don't Tell Policy was not about legitimizing a lie. . .ironically. It was about preventing certain questions from being asked - so no one would feel compelled to lie about their sexual orientation. If the question is asked, no one is obliged to answer. That was the point of Don't Ask Don't Tell.

I hope my answer helped.

Yes, the Bible says that it's a sin to "lie with another man"...but Jesus also says that we are to forgive our brother, as our Father in Heaven has forgiven us. You also remember, He says "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." So before you condemn someone for their lifestyle choices, better remove that plank my friend!

You can't rely on the bible for morality. First of all in 1 Corinthians 11:14-15 it says: "Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?" Look at all the paintings of Jesus christ in the churches and what do you see? A man with long hair! AHAHAHAHA
