My friend shut down his computer, went to work and his roommate started it up and used it for a while. When my friend got home, the computer would go to start up (ie: fans turn on, HD spins up) there is no post beeps and the no signal to monitor. He had this problem before back in December and it was the motherboard that went bad. I replaced that for him and checked to match sure everything else (ram, video card, cpu, HD, power supply etc.) worked. Could it be that the motherboard just fried again or something else is causing the same problem?

I did check all of the seating and the connection of the cables the first time. It was the motherboard that was bad (tried with other set of good parts) and the CPU, video card and power supply all worked in another system just fine. I just don't what else to check and cant believe that the new motherboard would go bad after only 6 months.

dont just throw away the motherboard...its not the problem..ussually start to check the cable connnected to monitor to cpu..after everything is ok..open up your cpu then re socket the memory and video card this is always the cause of it...especially if the contact between the memory and the board get dirt..and also same with video card.

try it...one by one..its a trail and error method...just be patience.. sooneer or later your will find techniques in solving that king of problem.

hope this help.

If u can you should reinstall the components on the old motherboard and see if anything works
I have had several problems like that and yes the motherboard can fail really quick especially if it's from a low end vendor like asrock, ecs etc. I had to change the motherboard 2 times in a month.

Is the light on the monitor green or yellow? If its yellow, no data is reaching the monitor from the PC. Have you tried another monitor? Make sure the graphic card is fully in place, and also the RAM. If you are certain the graphic card and ram are in good working condition, then most probably the mainboard is toast again.
