What would be better? The 8500GT has Stream Proccesors so that must totally help (unless they run in legacy mode...which would suck BIG and HARD) So what would it do when overclocked to the BFG 7600's speed? ( http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=17947 )

What would the 8500 run at with my display running at 1024x768? With like only 2-4 AA...what would be the performance.

Those Stream Processors are capable of both pixel or vertex calculations but at a 'slower' rate than previous generation.
While 128 stream on 8800GTX and 96 on 8800GTS will do the trick in killing the previous generation NVIDIA's strategy to lower the number to 32 on 8600 and 16 on 8500 didn't quite do the trick even if clocked higher. The performance of 8500GT with 600/1600 (GPU/VRAM) is a bit over 560/1400(GPU/RAM) 7300GT.
7600GT clearly outperforms 8500GT in 99% of cases. 1% are sintethic tests of 3dmark mostly the ones like vertex shader tests where all 16 units become vertex (such situations are not in games so they don't count).I would suggest to get the 7600GT without a doubt. If you think about dx10 suport think that i have amd x2 3600+ 1.5GB ram and 8600GT superclocked and can bereley play lost planet at a decent framerate with almost medium settings.

The 7600GT is definitely the better card. Don't worry about the dx10 bit. There's no point in getting a Dx10 card only to discover it is too slow and weak to run dx10 games at any decent settings. If you are patient and save a bit I'm sure the 8800GTS will come down a little more to a more affordable price.

Other than the 8500GT is a DX10 card, price would be somewhat similar. Go with the 8500GT the 7600GT had it's run and it's slower than my 6800GT/OC that was before untill I got my 640MB8800GTSSuperclocked from eVGA.

Rather than those two I would still prefer 8800GTX
