I asked a ? and got 40 great answers and cannot decide. How do you narrow down the best? I don't want to let it go into voting but I'm torn because there are so many good answers!

I would go by the knowledge of the question and the truth of the answer.

You asked a question because a) you really didn't know the answer and were looking for information, or b) you wanted to connect with other people and feel a part of the community as a whole.

If your reason was a), then pick the one that either sounds the most truthful, or the one that provided you with the most information (i.e. - facts, links, etc.)

If your reason was b), then pick the one that matches the answer you already had in your head when you asked the question.

Does that help? Good luck! Sometimes you just know when it's the best answer, and sometimes you just have to take a chance.

Just try to think of the one answer that helps you the most.
If you still cant find a best answer, then you can always let Yahoo Answers pick an answer for you instead.
Or you could pick the answer with the most votes on it, that way you may know that it is the answer that most people think is best.

I always choose best answer by the effort the person went into answering my question. It means they took the time to consider your question thoughtfully. I agree with you, sometimes it IS tough. And I feel bad for the other people because their answers were helpful too.

Pick the ones that you like the least and the ones you like the most. Eliminate all the least, and review the ones you like the most. Then then after you reviewed them pick maybe's and definate answers. Eliminate all the maybe's and when your down to the small number pick carefully which one is the best for you.

The best effort is the person, who does not copy it off wikipedia. The best puts some errors to it, easily to read. The best puts sources down. The best simply stays the best, sometimes.

just go with what you feel comfortable with. It's not like anyone is going to win anything for the most best answers.

Go with your gut and pick the one you feel as though you can relate to the most. It's not that serious.
