when her daughter picked up the car, i told her, that there are a few adjustments i still needed to make, and let me know of any problems.... well that was about three weeks ago, i have not seen the car since. now i have been told of a few different problems that the car is having, such as a rear main seal leak, an oil saturated air filter, and a loose oil filter. well the loose oil filter, i did not do the latest oil change, a saturated air filter can be caused by a few things. but the rear main seal, i am being told that with the strut bolts missing (there when it left) it would cause this to happen.
btw did i mention i have not been paid yet for the work.
i did the work in my drive way. i told them i can only warranty failed parts that were replaced. but now i am hearing all kinds of bs on the subject.

well, if the problem is from the engine then yes you are responsible for any problem that arises but to a certain point. usually the engine has a 6 months or 60k miles warranty to them in case stuff like this do happen. but go check everything out again and make sure what they claiming are correct. if not then they are just wiggling their way out of paying you. btw, why would you return the car back to them without being paid. they can get away and deny everything. but in case if what they are saying is true, i say fix it and collect the money from them or this case will have to go to a small claims court.

Your 1st. mistake. 1- allowing car to be picked up before work completed. 2- Having left yourself vulnerable in not completing the work before turning it over. Never trust that someone will pay you later. If someone see's a way to avoid paying for something they will. In the future, You need to make it clear that you will not responsible for extraneous problems such as these. Sound's like a good case for Judge Judy!

Always have people pay before they leave. You should always have a written agreement.(work order) You are responsible for any repairs done. Customer will never pay if not 100% happy and he already has the car. If he 's not happy he will not bring it back for any reason. Get some experiance in a real shop before you try the auto repair game. You can get BURNED!

you are screwed. in the 1st place you are performing auto repairs for money and you (it appears) don't have a license to do so. you are performing a commercial activity in a residential zone. you should pack up everything you own that can fit into your car and leave the country QUICK,
