Yes, I think a 16 year old can handle it just fine. We have to let them see these things at some point! It's crass, but oh well. You know she's listening to it anyway! Wait til you hear Spring Awakening...!

If you have to ask the question - then you probably already know the answer.

Avenue Q is adult fare. It has a ton of swearing, sexual content and adult situations.

It is also sweet, a good story and wonderful.
You'll have to be the judge on where this 16 year old is in life but I'd guess it'll be just fine.

My advise is that you listen to the soundtrack yourself and decide if it is right for your sixteen year old. Not all are as mature as others. I find it incredibly hilarious, but it does use adult language and topics. Judge for yourself.

Yeah, it's probably okay for 14 and 15 year olds too. As long as they can handle "sensitive" subjects (including puppet sex), it should be okay.
