Well yes diet is a big deal,we get protein in our diet.We also get too much fat and sweets.I think kids come home and hit the video games,TV,and computer. A generation ago we had video games but a larger percent of the kids hit the park and play grounds. I think it may be hard to get the kids into sports at a early age because parents are busy.As for diet that may be a problem because we and our kids eat too much fats and sweets.I feel laziness is not the problem. After spending time at the job or school the average American has a Hell of a time making it to the gym.

Its not just Americans. Australians are coming up behind Americans in the obesity race it seems however we are growing taller.
My now 16 year old brother was as tall as me when I was 20, now I'm 24 and he is a head taller than me. Any person around the age of 12 is almost 6', that includes the girls and it has only noticably happened in the last 10 years.

The countries with the taller people have socialized health care, meaning more people have access to better health care. But also in Holland (the country with the tallest people; not Norway) they practice eugenics, which means that if a baby is born defective, they'll let it die. Therefore, their citizens are healthier. Cruel and soulless, but healthier. Also because we in America spend so much money on our military, because we have to, because lord knows Holland ain't about to step up when there's an international threat, we don't have so much left over for social programs.

Beats me, I am 6'6" but I am the tallest in my family. Odd because my great grandfather was 6'9" and the only tall person in his family.
