Of course... the bible tells us not to be unequally yoked.
People are either dead in their sins or alive in Christ. If you are a Christian, why would you want to marry a dead person? That would drag you down.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:4-6

I am a Christian, and I would prefer to marry a fellow Christian--so I did. This is not specifically Christian stuff. You might have asked a more general question.
WOULD YOU PREFER TO MARRY SOMEONE WITH THE SAME SPIRITUAL BACKGROUND?
Many people think that a marriage has the best chance of success if people marry someone from a similar religious and social background. That way, you are on the same page when there are differences of opinion.
In some cultures and religions for example, the husband's mother is the alpha female and expects to be deferred to and obeyed. There is nothing wrong with that--provided the new wife is willing to accept it.
If a guy from that background married a feminist, sparks would fly.
Like should marry like. Christian or not.

I think im going to go against what some other people are saying. Yes, I would PREFER to marry a fellow chrisitian, but as of my situation right now, i'm not. Ofcourse he used to be Catholic, but he is just searching for himself right now, and I'll be there for him along his journey. Since we are getting serious (talks of marriage), he is willing to give Christianity another try because he knows how important it is to me and he thinks religion will make him happy and satisfied in his life again.

yes because it will be and is hard to live with some one who believes something totally different from you.
like age, race and etc does not matter when it comes to love and religion should not come in the way but it will have some affects marrying someone with a different religion than you.
but i would marry a fellow christian

I would have to say, you should marry someone of the same faith, does not have to be the same skin color just the same color spirit :)
I believe the lord Jesus Christ did say, where (2) two or more gather in my name , there shall I be also, isn't he a genious , isn't Jesus just Marvelous and wonderful to behold, look at those words he spoke over 2000 years ago, now picture a newly wed couple at the dinner table, no one else in the house but the two of them, one a believer and the other worships a Head of Cabbage or something, what did Jesus Say? where (2) two or more gather in my name there shall I be also,,, hummm I rest my case.

YES. AS A CHRISTIAN, IT IS WRITTEN TO BE 'EQUALLY YOKED' WHEN CHOOSING A MATE. That way, there is harmony in the home. No one is upset about you going to Church too much, giving tithes, and other things that can pop up in a marriage....INCLUDING HOW TO RAISE CHILDREN TO BELIEVE IN GOD!

Yes. God says not to be unequally yoked. If you are a true Christian, you shouldn't even date a non-christian.
