This is my first time being pregnant. I felt a fluttering in my stomach is it the baby moving or just a nerve jumping? I am only about 6-8 weeks. I dont know if i'd feel the baby moving this early or not.

dont worry about anyone saying its too soon or that you are silly for asking the question. It's probably the baby with early movement or it maybe excessive blood flow. If it feels like little gas bubbles it probably the baby. If you still thinks its too early to feel the baby move you may be further along than you think

A flutter in your stomach could be almost anything, more than likely a gas bubble though. You start feeling baby movements anywhere between 12-20 weeks. Usually towards the later end if it's your first pregnancy. You would have to be at least 3 months pregnant in order to be feeling a little baby in there.

Congratulations! I think the embryo is a bit small at this point to actually be doing anything noticable to you. Probably only the size of a raisin at this point - and really doesn't have any capable limbs. However, realize that your uterus and everything else in your abdomen is beginning the process of supporting a growing baby - and things will be moving and stretching and expanding ALOT in there. So you are going to feel alot of "strange" stuff at all times, possibly including twitches, cramps (round ligament), bloating, extra gas (due to eating more + the hormones), even mini-contractions (braxton-hicks). I felt mine flutter around the 16th week - usually the docs say around the 4th month you can feel true "quickening" (the medical term) or as you called it "a flutter feeling."

I would say gas, sorry but it way to early your baby is the size of a pea.
Around 14 weeks is called the quickening and this is when you will feel first flutters but generally you don't feel the baby move until 18-22 weeks.
I'm 26 weeks with baby # 3 and only now do you feel the real kicks.

Probably just nerves. It it hard to tell just when you will feel the little one really move, but its more likely to be closer to 4 months for the flutter and 6 for a real kick. Me, I've had 4 and the more I had the more I was aware of what I was feeling.
I remember having an ultra sound at 18 weeks and telling the radiologist that I could feel the little one moving, and we could see it on the ultrasound. She was surprised.

Good luck and healthy delivery!

Lol my little peanut is moving right this sec. well you'll get there soon enough and when you do you'll know! Congrats and best wishes

Probably a bit early. Generally with a first you dont feel them till bout 18 weeks at the earliest but I felt mine at 17. Could be wind or just your insides moving to make room for extra stuff.

It is way to early to feel any movement. At 6 weeks the heart has barley started beating and it hardly looks like a baby. It is most likely gas. And since it is your first baby, you most likely won't feel any movement until you are at least 16 weeks, sometimes women don't even feel the baby move until 22 weeks.
