Yes - IF - you are not allergic AND your doctor has said it is ok
that said- there are studies that suggest that babies teeth can be discolored (greyish) by taking antibiotics.
ASK YOUR DOCTOR - you should be doing that rather than asking here.
YOU are your best advocate (for yourself and your baby) a good doctor WANTS you to ask questions (no matter how silly you feel) if it helps - write things down on a page in a note book and show him/her your questions/ concerns- that way you dont forget things.
Just remember your doctor is skilled and knowledgeable but he/she is NOT god!
it is not only acceptable to question things - it is Wise to do so. an educated mom to be makes a good/knowledgable mom who will be better able to deal with real problems that might arise.
good luck and congratulations on the baby on the way.

I was prescribed amoxicillin during my first trimester for a urinary tract infection and was told by my Dr. that it would not harm my baby.
It's a standard antibiotic given for many basic treatments, especially UTI's (which is more of a medical complication to your baby if not treated).
Of course, ask your physician if you want to feel better about taking the medicine.
Also remember, that when you are prescribed amoxicillin - you must* take every pill in that was prescribed in order for it to be effective. The treatment will be useless if you miss even one.
Hope this helps!

Before using amoxicillin, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs (especially cephalosporins such as Ceclor, Ceftin, a history of diarrhea caused by taking antibiotics; or
a history of any type of allergy.
If you have any of these conditions, you may not be able to use amoxicillin, or you may need a dosage adjustment or special tests during treatment.
FDA pregnancy category B. This medication is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Amoxicillin can make birth control pills less effective, which may result in pregnancy.

My OB advised me Zithromax is likewise ok on an analogous time as pregnant, and it rather is style of greater suitable,so if this does not sparkling up what you have, be certain you permit your dr be responsive to and that they are in a position to alter the antibiotic. good success

Unless your doctor has said yes, you shouldn't take any medication whilst pregnant. Speak to the doctor/midwife.

yes it is very safe to take during pregnancy. as it is only a basic anti-biotic, it will only kill the infection. i have just finished a course of amoxillin for a chest infection & everything is fine.
