I want to plant a white tree but my son is allergic to birch trees.

Thanks for the answers I have recieved so far! I have to fess up and tell the reasoning here: my entire family are fans of the Lord of the Rings movies and Gondor is my favourite faction. Their symbol is a white tree so I want one. Do any of these trees mentioned so far have flowers that bloom at some time of the year?

There are a few you could use but the Platanus acerifolia (sycamore or plane tree) will grow to have a beautiful, smooth, white surface. The tree will eventually be very large, so ensure you have enough space for it.

Crepe Myrtles are my favorite. The bark peels in the fall and the plants just get prettier with age.
