I can only tighten screws with it, how do I use it in reverse? is this even possible? what am i not doing

Up near the top of the socketr wrench, theres a little lever - flip it so the socket wrench loosens instead of tightening.

First you learn to use a socket wrench on "bolts." And then
You make the adjustment on the back of the socket wrench.
And remember the first rule to become a mechanic is:
"righty tighty" and "lefty lucy" and you can get "certified" ;-})

Twist the little raised thingy on the top of the ratchet and it should turn in the opposite direction.

I hope you are not fixing your own car with those tools. If you can`t operate a ratchet, you should stay away from repairs.
