I agree. One benefit of Q and A is having such a large and diverse forum to seek thoughts from and share thoughts with. And nobody really knows who you are. I guess some folks are just shy to a fault and have difficulty sharing anything about themselves. Keep sharing Dodge, you make the world more interesting.

I've blocked my questions and answers at times and then unblocked them after a few days. I was getting harassed from a couple of other users. When I answered a question about Iraq with the fairly casual comment that I was too old to go and I had served in Vietnam, I got a pretty hateful email wanting to know my age and other personal details. I also have a person who checks my answers and give me thumbs down on everything. None of this really matters, but it just gets tiresome at times. I blocked my questions and answers before I went to bed last night and unblocked them this morning. I've made it to level 6 with only one abuse report, but even that made me cautious. There was nothing abusive about the answer that I was reported for. I know children visit this site. I'm very careful about my language. EDIT: I understand the "thumbs down" on a question that's a matter of opinion, but it does irk me to get a "thumbs down" on an answer that's purely factual--like what's the capital of some state--answers like that.

honest to gosh, uncle dodge! I did it too, before I learned how to use the Contacts relay. I got really embarrassed, and I think the person I was looking for was more than a bit put out by my stupidity. But, hey, we all make at least one mistake in this life....
But, I agree, for regular correspondence, I'd use a private line. It's easy enough to do so through Yahoo itself( not that we're indulging in advertising here).
Look, if I give an answer you ( as in anyone out there) disagree with, let me know!

I've wondered the same thing. Sometimes it's hard to come by good questions and when one does and you go to see if they have anymore... nothing. I wonder if it might be a little paranoia going on... hmm

Basically, they are having a conversation with a particular person. I say, make a phone call, email, text or im them. Sheesh- anything to feel important!

I have wondered that too; in fact, I just posted the same question. I cannot follow favorite askers' questions now.

How do you hide your answers? Even if a person only answered questions from certain asker, his Q/A would still be on his page, right?

People (yes, like me) make their network private because it makes it much more difficult for trolls and stalkers to target them or their fans / friends.
