Check with your local library. If they have an active Friends of the Library organization, they may sell cancelled library books and donated books either year round or at annual book sales. You often find the bestsellers next to that obscure book you never thought you’d see again and must have. The prices are fair and the proceeds usually benefit the library.

The website www.book-sales-in-america.com lists friends of the library book sales. Scroll down and click on the geographical area you live in to find sales for the next 6 months. Each library sets their own prices, but they are usually very cheap and the books are mostly in pretty good condition.

You might also check thrift stores and yard sales. Yes, to used bookstores like halfprice books and the independent bookstores. You can also order online from half.com, alibris, abebooks, just to name a few. I don't know if they are that much cheaper. Is it the shipping that's a problem or just bad experiences?

good will sells books for .10 cent per paperback and .25 cents per hard back. these books are used sure but i've found books that were bestsellers and\or on recall for paperback. plus try any thrift store

Every flea market I have ever been to has a wide selection and good deals you wouldn't think so but the person tending the store you can bet they know where every one is your looking for. luck
