Meaning comes from purpose and there can be no such thing as purpose unless there is a Creator.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted mathematician, philosopher and atheist)

But many people do or say things that are designed to deceive themselves into thinking they have a purpose. The most often heard phrase is "I want to make a difference". But such self deception gives only a feeling and not the reality.

I hope you don't think this is a religious answer, because I don't consider it one.

It's about unconditional love, and self acceptance, that's it in a nut shell.

To be able to operate from a higher level, to "do" without seeking retribution of any kind, is an extremely difficult, and rewarding task. Putting aside the pursuit of ones own comfort security and pleasure.
Self acceptance, another really difficult one.............but remember what Popeye said:
"I am what I am and that's what I am"l

The meaning of life is to be born, live and grow old and in these stages discover ways to be happy, and change other life in the process. By making an impact or a memory in someone elses life other than your own you not only fufill your purpose in life, but allows you a smile and a laugh in the process. Other than the fact that we are suppose to know God and find how we will live eternally, basically its just being ourselves everyday. To me if you find that you are old and you didn't face any challenges in life than you had it to easy and you didn't really learn what life is. Because its by making mistakes and facing daily challenges of life we can really answer the meaning of life.

That is something you have to decide for yourself. For some people it is quite easy for others not so much. But I suggest you trod your own path. You should ask yourself some questions, like at the end of your life what do you want to have contributed to the human race, the earth or maybe just your family. If you find an answer to this, you next question should be how am I going to do this.

Personally, I've made my life meaningful by always searching for the positive side of things. In a world filled with war, drugs, violence, teenage pregnancy, greed, jealousy, and other types of negativity, There is no end to the amount of bad stuff out there, so I don't have time to become involved in it since I've learned to become very happy and content by always focusing on the brightside.

The meaning is different to everyone but here is my philosophy:

To make a positive difference. (It could be in the life of a child, in saving an animal, inventing something, making an older person laugh, teaching a teenager the facts of life, picking up spilled groceries for a stranger, etc.)

Jesus H Christ - oh what the heck, live as you will, be as you may do as you must. It's all about you isn't it and if you don't do it who the whatever will? I am what I's am an that's all what's I am - said Popeye, I don't know if God is effervescent or some omanis present or something some can never come to understand. I think we, you and I are here for light, wonderment and enlightenment lived through our experiences.

The meaning of life is be happy, don't hurt anyone, tell the truth, fall in love, get married, have children. When you see your children and then your grandchildren you will realize this is what life is about: They love you and you love them--they are your life.

You tell me. It's all up to you.

Ultimately, the burden of meaning falls upon your own direct understanding of life. My own understanding: There is no meaning other than that which we believe it to be at the time we try to formulate an answer to that question.
