I have run into this same issue, and it doesn't feel good when someone you thought was a genuine friend turns out to be fake. Personally, I have distanced myself from people like this because I cannot respect them. It's not worth trying to deal with it if they end up hurting you, which will most likely occur if they're anything like the people that come to mind. Just make sure you don't get sucked into that type of life. You can be polite and nice to people like this, but it doesn't mean you have to let them into your personal life. Just be confident in who you are, and know that fake people have low self esteems and will do anything to fit in.

Ghost them. I ignore them and pretend they don't exist. Because if they're fake, then they aren't real. And if they aren't real, they don't exist. Ghosts. Sad.
