Unfortunately no. And I had the same exact problem even down to the 50lbs where my Dr. was concerned b/c I put it on so fast and she didn't want me on the shot anymore. You have probably heard this a million times just like I have but diet and exercise seems to be the key thing. However, I still have the 50 lbs plus some now and my motabolism slowed way down- so I needed help from Dr. prescribed diet pills- but watch out b/c they will make you moodier than what you are. Because it is a hromonal thing, I would start taking viatimins and start getting your bosy back on track and leveling everything out that needs too!

I would stay away from it if you have those symptoms...I had the same prob.
After I got off it I lost 35pnds and it took me 3 months before I had my period again. Then it caused me to bleed for a month straight. I still suffer from the depression and I had my last shot in 2000. I am on Lexapro for the depression. Usually if you get depression from it, then it is caused by a chemical imbalance and needs to be regulated by meds...but be careful what meds you take. Lexapro and Zoloft have some good results but can effect you in the big "O" department. And it can effect you negatively. If you get any thoughts of suicide get off asap. But I have had alot of luck with Lexapro...less "O" problems....Good luck and make sure you do what you need to stay healthy and happy.

I was on the Depo shot for about 6 months and had a lot of negative side effects as well. I started feeling like myself again a lot sooner than that...within about a month, I suppose. I never thought about it :) I don't know about any way to speed up the process, but thought you'd like to know that it certianly didn't take 8 months for me to feel better. Good luck!

Easy, get OFF the shot. I was on it for four years and am so glad I am off of it. I got off after hearing that many many other women were having the same nasty side affects I was having as well as some other horror stories (class action lawsuits, bone density issues, etc).
I am on Kariva now (pill) and a lot happier. I got on Kariva three months after my last shot in order to get my periods back (hah go figure) for when I plan on having kids.
After three months the shot no longer protects against pregnancy, NOT 8 months like someone told you... I've heard of people getting pregnant immediately after getting off the shot, getting pregnant ON the shot, and I've even heard of some needing to go to a fertility specialist to get pregnant.
There is no way to speed the process to get it out of your body, you just have to (im)patiently wait.
