I believe your question is about free will and whether it exists or not. If I where to rephrase your question as below I could then give you a much clearer responce. If you have freewill. Control of your choices then does that mean that you could chose to end your freewill. Is this a paradox. Because I it is often stated that if you are all-powerful then it is a paradox when someone poses the question "if you are all-powerful then can you make a rock so big you can't pick it up?" To me this is like saying that if you are all-powerful then you can not chose to not be all-powerful. Does that mean if an option exists where you can chose not to have one of the above qualities mean that the above qualities do not exist? Also is freewill in your opinion infinite or finite or is that the same as asking are choices infinite? On a long enough time line can freewill cease to exists as a result of having made every choice that is possible until you must chose to either have freewill or have no choices left which would not be freewill. Is this a paradox. So here's my answer to that question. I will first go though this a bit at a time, so that I don't confuse myself. Part one. "Control of your choices then does that mean that you could chose to end your freewill. Is this a paradox." If it is your will to control your choice then this is still a question of free will. If how ever you fill that you must control your choice due to the will of ours, then this is a question of weak will. Weak will is still free but choice of it's only will not two be so, here it may seem that we indeed do have a paradox. However I will argue that this is not the case, as it is a question of will! I one wills to be strong of will then their will, will win! Of course the body may lose, but the fundamental laws of the universe described by Mr Einstein state the E=MC2. Let me explain that a little better, M is mass i.e. Physical substance. E is Energy the sum of all parts. Mass can become energy just as energy can become mass. Now if we take WILL as a whole of the human social evolution the con consider that Will have both a possitive and Negative form in respect to human social evolution. Then the fact of ones will defying that of another or others will counter balance, in part, the two extremes of the possitive and negative over all will. The victor may be small and some may consider the cost to be high, but war are won as a result of many battles. ---------------------- Part 2 "Because I it is often stated that if you are all-powerful then it is a paradox when someone poses the question "if you are all-powerful then can you make a rock so big you can't pick it up?" To me this is like saying that if you are all-powerful then you can not chose to not be all-powerful." Part of this I have already cover in part one, Though I feel that I must point out that the argument often used concerning the Rock confuses me! Allow me to explain why. If one is infinitely powerful an therefore has the Energy (Power (E=MC2)) to create an Infinitely big rock then the point of which it will be impossible to pick up the big will are at the point just after infinity. So the answer is logically No, therefore there is no paradox! The question now returns to the choice of will. Lets say that you are faced will the choice of Will. concerning a cake that you have made. Now Will you eat all the cake and there have to immediately make another. Or Will you choice to eat it slowly and there have time to make another at your will and before you have finished eating this one. If you are Omnipotent you can have your cake an eat it. if you so will. --------------------------------------... Part 3 "Does that mean if an option exists where you can chose not to have one of the above qualities mean that the above qualities do not exist? Again this follows on from part 1 & 2, I Will added, that as this is a case of will then the answer is, No. Unless of course we wish to limit our will, and in the case that the Omnipotent is not truly Omni but is only localised. then some may argue the contrary, and that is of the free will to do so. ---------- Part 4 Also is freewill in your opinion infinite or finite or is that the same as asking are choices infinite?" This you will find answered in part 2 but also mentioned in parts 1 & 3 --------------------------------- Part 5 "On a long enough time line can freewill cease to exists as a result of having made every choice that is possible until you must chose to either have freewill or have no choices left which would not be freewill?" "Is this a paradox?" See parts 1 2 3 & 4 Thanks for the question.
