mercury in your blood interferes with neurotransmitters in your nervous system. makes you retarded

the vapor is dangerous enough, as mercury is volatile. i hope you didn't use your hands to pick up the silver balls. cos they diffuse through your skin. i bought a mercury disposal kit in my lab. but i didnt get to use that. i now use a silver needed thermometer, that i think works on thermocouple principle.

theres an urban legend saying you can treat the exposed mercury with elemental sulphur powder. its supposed to react to give HgS, a less toxic compd. however recent studies have shown that the vapor is still released and still makes you retarded. LOL

The link below tells you how to safely clean up small amounts of mercury. Do not just leave it there because it will continue to poison you and then you may die.

mecury is poisonous.since it is in liquid form at room temperature and has low boiling point it tends to change into vapour quickly and its very dangerous to inhale that gas.
one way to clean the liquid mercury is to add solid sulphide on it and a chemical reaction will take place to form
mecury sulphide in solid state. this is how the way to collect mecury.'DONT USE HAND TO COLLECT MERCURY'

Mercury vapor is poisonous. Out doors is probably better than indoors but if it is in soil or sand where children play it is not good.
