My daughter and son-in-law are having a boy in early October. They are thinking about using the name Talon..."the claw"! I think he will be teased...what do ya'll think?

Since a lot of people do know that talon is another word for fingernail, I would try to point that out to them and at least get them to change the spelling. Sometimes a young couple gets stuck on a name and there's not a whole lot you can do. I would get some a bunch of baby name books and hope they find something they like better.

Kids are cruel these days. Talon is a different name, that is for sure. It is the parents decision though. Good luck and best of health to you and your daughter/grandson!

Talon is used a bit now.
There is a Talon on that MTV show - Laguna Beach.

I can't stand freaky baby names; Talon is no exception. I understand people want to get creative with their kids' names but this is too far. Like when Jason Lee named his kid "Pilot Inspekktor."

I think that it is an unique name. It is easy to spell and pronounce. However I personally think of a birds claw but that doesnt matter... All that matters is that you like it... I would imagine that he would be dark haired, greenish blue eyes, cute as a little boy nice looking as a man...

Yeah. I got a picture in my mind of a claw right away when I read the name. Personally don't like it. Besides, it sounds somewhat mystical and cultish.
